Dear Class,
Due to a nasty sore throat, tonight's class is canceled and will be rescheduled for later in the semester. Homework assignments #1 and #2 are due on the dates cited earlier.
Thanks,

Dear Class,
In last night's Republican Presidential debate, there was much discussion between Sen. McCain and former Gov. Mitt Romney about whom would be a better leader on both foreign and domestic policy.
Besides the one element we touched upon last week, listening, what leadership characteristics or qualities do you want to see in our next President and are these qualities limited to an individual's area of expertise, as the CNN panelists implied or are they transcendent?
Your responses must be posted no later than 6 PM on February 7th.
Thanks,
Jason

The Next Step ...
Now that you have described your ideal boss, reflect on your own development and share with me the steps or actions you will need to take to become that "ideal" boss.

Hey All!
Over the past few weeks these articles from Penelope Trunk ("The Brazen Careerist") of Yahoo! Finance have caught my eye. They are very reader-friendly, and they address matters that were brought up at the very first meeting of our Managing class. Enjoy!

Dear Class:
Your assignment for next week is straightforward. Please describe your ideal boss - I am looking for concrete examples of the type of person, leadership/personality style that would enable you to flourish while working for this person.
The more detail the better, and please describe the work scenario where you would encounter this boss (campaign, lobbying shop, political consulting firm, etc.). Help us understand what makes this person "ideal," and what sets them apart from others.
I look forward to reading your comments.
Thanks,
Jason
